About

  Jacob Makens, a native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, is currently in his last semester of the Masters of Geospatial Information Science and Technology (MGIST) program at North Carolina State University (NCSU). Prior to attending NCSU, Jacob attended Colorado State University (CSU) where he earned a Bachelors degree in Soil and Crop Science followed by serving in the US Army in the 82nd Airborne Division.

  Jacobs career goals include finishing both his masters at NCSU and a second bachelors in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a minor in Agricultural Engineering. Following graduation from those programs, Jacob would like to work full time as an Agricultural Engineer or Agricultural Technologist.

  Jacob currently lives in his home town of Las Cruces with his wife, Courtney, and their two dogs, Snoop and Dogg.
